What is it Really like?
Unawatuna Beach Resort, or UBR is one of the oldest and best-known beach resorts in Sri Lanka, established in 1982. It is the only star class, full service hotel in Unawatuna, and has the longest beach frontage in Unawatuna of 135 meters. It has the only swimming pool in Unawatuna, the only Jacuzzis, the only animation program, and the largest F&B area with dining options for up to 350 pax and fully licensed bar.
Where is it?
One of the few living fort cities of the world, the Port of Galle has attracted international traders for centuries. It is now a major tourist attraction and the centre of Sri Lanka’s south coast ‘Riviera’. It has a burgeoning arts scene, an annual Literary Festival, an international cricket stadium and a famous natural harbour. Founded in the 16thC. by the Portuguese, the existing Fort was built by the Dutch in the 17th C. The Government has plans to develop Galle into a leisure centre and marina for international yachts and regattas.
