THE FUTURE OF SRI LANKAN TOURISM – JETWING SYMPHONY
Building on the legacy of Jetwing Hotels, its storied reputation for delivering true traditional Sri Lankan hospitality and excellent service through world class properties and people, Jetwing Symphony is now the future of Sri Lankan tourism.
With the intention of adding over 350 rooms to the current inventory, Jetwing Symphony will be constructing 4 hotels (at present) in key locations around the country. These locations include Colombo, Yala, Dambulla, and Uppuveli. More projects are in the pipeline, and the four mentioned are scheduled to launch within the next three years. More details on the current hotels are as follows:
Jetwing Colombo, Colombo
The first hotel by Jetwing in the country’s capital, Jetwing Colombo will boast 70 deluxe rooms and 28 serviced apartments, designed by a leading architectural firm in Singapore. The hotel will be fully equipped to deal with all manner of travelers, from business (with a state of the art conference facility and business centre) to leisure (rooftop swimming pool, nature spa, gym and fitness centre). Designed to attract visitors from overseas with excellent proximity to all key shopping and business areas as well as other principal landmarks, and to be a place to relax through a designer coffee shop and signature restaurant, Jetwing Colombo will indeed be the place to be when it opens in April 2014.
Jetwing Yala Safari, Yala
Situated on the outskirts of the famed Yala National Park, Jetwing Yala Safari is set to be an exclusive wildlife safari property delivering a game lodge experience like none ever before. The former Yala Safari Lodge which was destroyed by the tsunami of 2004 is in the process of rebirth; and will be an eco-friendly hotel with 70 dwellings and 28 luxury villas, with the frequent animal sightings (leopard, elephant, sloth bear amongst others) displayed on screens around the grounds to accentuate the unique experience. Jetwing’s commitment to the environment will be evident at Jetwing Yala Safari, with room lighting and hot water generation powered by a solar photo-voltaic system with a backup grid supply. Opening in April 2013, Jetwing Yala Safari brings a wildlife experience… to your doorstep.
Jetwing Lake, Dambulla
Blending in with the surrounding forest and fringed by the serene waters of a lake; strategically placed in the heart of the Cultural Triangle of Annuradhapura, Polonnaruwa and Sigiriya lies Jetwing Lake. With 92 lovingly crafted guest rooms and 05 superbly appointed suites, as well as a split level swimming pool, spa and other recreational facilities, the property is just 15 minutes drive from the Dambulla International Cricket Stadium, as well as within easy access to famous landmarks such as the Dimbulagala Raja Maha Vihara and the Rock Fortress of Sigiriya. Jetwing Lake is set to open its doors in January 2014.
Jetwing Reef, Uppuveli
The East Coast of Sri Lanka. Untouched, pristine, with a beauty that is to be seen. Endless stretches of white sand beckon, with the vivid blues of the Indian Ocean warm and inviting. Jetwing Reef is to be a fully equipped luxury resort hotel with an integrated villa complex, boasting a Mediterranean ambience within 64 guest rooms and 02 luxury suites. A sprawling swimming pool meanders across the gardens, and other facilities to soothe the weary traveler in the form of a rejuvenation spa with treatment cabins alongside a fully equipped gymnasium. The cuisine will be above and beyond the highest standards; a large designer restaurant and a specialty seafood outlet that takes in the ocean provides fare to suit every culinary expectation. Jetwing Reef is to be launched in December 2013.
