Colombo, 25/04/2019, 15:00 hours (SL Time)
Dear Friends and Partners,
To further strengthen security and ensure safety in the country, the Sri Lanka security forces have launched island-wide patrols and search missions.
The departure terminal of the BIA was closed for a very short period of approximately 45 minutes this morning in order to carry out a search but is now re-opened and functioning as before.
Also, the Kingsbury hotel in Colombo has issued a statement mentioning they are now open and ready to welcome guests from today (25th April).
All domestic air operators have been advised to temporarily cease operations and domestic flights have been cancelled until further notice due to the heightened security level in the country.
As we reported yesterday, all clients who are already in the country are continuing their programs as usual and all sites are completely open as normal.
It is expected the precautionary police curfew that was in place over the last 4 days from 10 pm to 4 am will also be in place tonight till very early tomorrow morning.
We are continually closely monitoring the situation and if there is any reason to be concerned, we will of course alert you immediately.
Thank you once again for all your support in these trying times!
