Sri Lanka Status Update

Dear Partners and Friends,
The heads of the Armed forces (Army, Navy, Air Force and Police) in Sri Lanka and the President have announced that there is no threat from extremists at present as all suspects have been arrested or killed, their wealth confiscated, safe houses busted etc. However, as in most other countries we will always remain at a heightened state of alert as this is a global threat. Unlike after the end of the war, we will never relax and be complacent.
Our staff will be trained on certain security measures so they would be able to be vigilant and nab suspected people/ movements etc.
Most hotels and establishments have adopted new security measures.
An official appeal has been made to other countries requesting the travel bans in place to be lifted.
According Airport and Aviation Services, new arrangements have been made from today (2019/05/10) at the airport to reduce the inconveniences caused while ensuring safety and security of all passengers. A special vehicle park, No. 3 has been allocated for cars and micro-vans at the arrivals area. Our airport representatives will page the clients as usual inside the terminal and accompany them to the vehicle park along the covered corridor which is approximately 50 meters away. This is just by the coach park used for big coaches and hence easily accessible. Large coaches can also be taken into the Airport as before subject to obtaining prior permission.
For departures, only the passengers are allowed to enter airport premises and we recommend arriving 4 hours prior to departure to avoid delays due to heightened security measures. Our cars and micro-vans will take the passengers up to the Departure Terminal as usual for the drop off.
