“Having just completed a highly successful tour in February 2010 with an excellent group of people, we have received a number of inquires asking us to arrange another tour.
An opportunity to join another unique accompanied tour arranged jointly by us for visits to tea estates and Jetwing supply excellent highly motivated drivers with vehicles and our accommodation requirements.
The tour covers all aspects of the island giving a true insight into the tea industry, visiting Sri Lanka’s amazing archaeological, historical & scenic sights.
Travel by car or minibus with experienced driver/guides, staying 4 & 5 star hotels. Visit premier Tea Brokers and the tea auction; receive a warm welcome at the tea estates which are situated well off the tourist route, a chance to see the welfare provision for the workers, the schools, hospitals and community housing provision. Gain an education in the art of tea tasting and discover the diversity of flavour of teas grown at different elevations in 7 different districts and some 32 agro climates in this island.
Stay in Kandy the hill capital and then visit the cultural triangle, visiting the ancient city of Anuradhapura (500 B.C.), Sigiriya fortress and Dambulla caves. Enjoy a jeep safari, more than 50 elephants spotted on our last trip! There is an option to climb Adam’s Peak at midnight to see the sun rise at dawn on the Eastern coastline, a magical experience for the energetic! Visit a top rubber estate factory, spice garden and see a small cottage industry where a family source and make the wonderful natural dark palm sugar from the Kithul palm. See and taste Singhalese curries made and cooked in the traditional way.
Finally time to relax at a 5 * beach hotel near the UNESCO listed World Heritage old Dutch Port & fort of Galle. The tour will take you to 6 of the 7 listed World Heritage Sites that this island is renowned for as well as being known as the cradle of Buddhism.
