or the first time in the history of the leisure sector of Sri Lanka a far-reaching survey was carried out to access the service levels of hotels, restaurants, airlines and even shops.
The Lighthouse Hotel |
This appraisal was commissioned by Sri Lanka’s prestigious Living magazine which set out to survey “how good, bad or ugly” service levels were in the “eyes of city inhabitants”. The Living Magazine hired TNS Lanka to carry out this survey during November – December of 2010.
Jetwing Hotels would like to announce its rankings as contenders for the Best Four and Five Star Outstation Hotels.
Jetwing has been ranked second and third after Heritance Kandalama, with Jetwing Hunas Falls topping the list at number two and Jetwing Lighthouse at number three.
The main objective of the survey was to seek out the level of satisfaction that the public received from travel, leisure and shopping related services in Sri Lanka and the participants were mainly drawn from Colombo’s city population, on the basis of how regularly they used the services which were being reviewed.
Therefore it was those who lived in urban or semi-urban locations that were the focus of this poll. The 500 respondents who took part in this survey frequent restaurants, city hotels and shops at least twice a month and holiday at outstation hotels at least every three months. Both males and females made up the target group and their earnings fell into two categories of ‘SEC A’ and ‘B’.
Those in group A earned a minimum of Rs 100,000 monthly while those in group B earned nothing less than Rs 50,000 a month. All the participants were between the ages of 18 and 60.
The poll was based on a structured questionnaire carried out by TNS Lanka which based its calculations on a ‘satisfactory scale’ for each of the characteristics in the diverse service categories.
Jetwing Hunas Falls and Jetwing Lighthouse were ranked second and third respectively for an overall average of 4.3 and 4.1 respectively which takes into account attributes such as staff assistance, staff knowledge, ambience, value for money, hygiene and general facilities.
Jetwing Hunas Falls is only ranked two decimal points behind Heritance Kandalama which has an overall average of 4.5, while Jetwing Lighthouse is only four decimal points behind the number one spot on the poll.
Jetwing Hunas Falls had an overall service quality of 4.6 while Jetwing Lighthouse’s overalls service quality ranked at 4.2.
Thus both hotels didn’t merely settle at the somewhat satisfied level but aimed higher.
Both Jetwing Hotels received satisfactory ratings in areas such as product, variety, product quality value for money, value additions, documentation, ambience and hygiene among other attributes. This survey is a reflection of the exemplary services and relaxing atmosphere that Jetwing Hotels has become renowned for throughout Sri Lanka.
Their commitment to ensuring that their hotels project the highest standards possible will always be the basis on which the hotels function.
Jetwing Hotels has shown the leisure industry that it has what it takes to provide the best in hospitality and holidays and for this reason no one needs to think twice when they want to take a much needed holiday away from the reality of their lives. The choice is simply Jetwing, Or Jetwing.
