Galle lit fest 2013 cancelled

The Galle Literary Festival 2013 has been cancelled due to what organizers refer to as time constraints and unforeseeable cancellations.

“Following a number of unforeseeable cancellations, and given the rigid time constraints in the organisation of a festival of this size and stature, we have decided to take a break for the Galle Literary Festival in 2013.” Said festival founder Geoffrey Dobbs in a statement issued today.

Festival organizers have said that they are currently in the process of working with sponsors and partners to create a stimulating and inspirational programme for GLF 2014; and are also planning a different format for the 2014 festival with a newlist of authors.

Dates for the 2014 festival will be posted shortly on their website.
