In March, Jetwing Kaduruketha had its most glorious, the Maha Season’s (main season) harvesting festival. And in this April, Jetwing Kaduruketha is graciously beginning the paddy farming season for the Yala Season (low season) and will be expecting the harvesting of paddy in the month of August.
Sri Lanka having an elongated antiquity of agronomy which has been developed over 25 years includes ancient irrigation tanks, plantations and paddy cultivation systems. Thus, Sri Lanka is an ideal location to experience the agriculture as well as the way of life of the local people of Sri Lanka.

Entering to the Yala Season, land preparation was carried out since 30th of March this year, ceremonially using traditional paddy cultivation methods which denotes the rich Lankan ethnicity and authenticity. Then, the seeding rice/ sowing rice is to be conducted from 10th of April to 20th of April 2019, ceremonially with the blessings of gods. And then, by the time after first week of August, it is the time to harvest the organically grown paddy, which includes a variety of activities like cutting, stacking, handling, threshing cleaning and hauling, all in an organic farming experience for the first time at Jetwing Kaduruketha, where 10 acres of land is allocated to be used as organic farming by using traditional Sri Lankan varieties of rice and methods!
