Tour of Ramada Hotel Colombo
by · Published · Updated
Ramada Hotel belonging to Wyndham group has seen a new face since its refurbishment and launch in Colombo Sri Lanka.
The Sri Lanka Tailor-Made team was invited to visit this beautiful new hotel. Starting from the ground up, during the tour the team got to see all main areas of the hotel, including the refurbished ground floor and lobby, the rooms, the ball room, meeting room, the pool, the restaurant and bar.
The lobby area and surrounding architecture have been refurbished to build an open coffee shop called Baked and a wider sitting area. The ambiance had a calming effect that made us feel warm and welcomed. The conference/board room situated on the same floor was a bit tight but is placed on the ground floor for easy access.
The ground section houses the main restaurant, the pool, the pub/bar with the digital juke box. There is also a Jacuzzi available next to the pool. It felt a little cramped taking the walkway to the pool past the restaurent, maybe because we were walking in a group however was
Just above the pool area you can see the gym which was packed with patrons looking to stay fit.
The rooms over 90 room in total, with premier suit being the most spacious. All rooms are however equipped with IPTV, Free Wifi, mini bar and other standard room facilities. The colours and designs of the rooms were light and warm with the furniture being stylish and modern.
The ballroom which was already occupied with a wedding reception is spacious and simple with a lighting display which can emit a million colour variations. This is definitely a good location for MICE events, or anyone planning their next wedding.
By the end of the tour we were famished, and the food at the main restaurant Alhambra was to die for. A fully Halal certified restaurant, we were served northern Indian cuisine which was simply the best.
All in all the team agreed that the hotel with its easy location in Colombo is perfect for business travelers, as well as those on tour in the country.
Thanks to Pailtha, Naveed and staff of Ramada for the wonderful tour who provided all the interesting facts about the hotel and gave us the best meal.
